Multiple data acquisition systems (DAQ’s) are available on the market. Within the NVMS/HBK portfolio, there are multiple product families of great data acquisition systems, with names such as QuantumX, SomatXR, LAN-XI, Genesis, etc. The criteria to select the most suitable DAQ vary.
Sometimes advances in technology enable new features and extended capabilities that expand your range of options. Sometimes you simply need to replace old tools. The new generation B&K 2245 and 2255 sound level meters are task-tailored, class 1 measurement solutions. They work seamlessly with specially created mobile apps, PC software and feature an open API interface, bringing an entirely new level of efficiency, control and connectivity.
In today’s market we see the need to access data quicker and more efficiently. To be able to understand your plant and asset health, to enable smart decisions to be made using your own data and communicate with teams in remote areas. Starting your Digital twin journey can be challenging.
Most sensors are transducers, converting the physical quantity to measure into a generated output to digitalise. For decades, the generated output has been electrical in natures, therefore the name “electrical sensors”.
Vibration test systems, also called shakers, are used for laboratory testing, modal and structural analysis, squeak and rattle, package testing, and durability testing of objects of practically any size – ranging from small electrical components through to complete systems and large payloads.
In the era of electrification, many new challenges arise, such as the noise impacts of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). BESS noise levels often consist of a significant amount of low-frequency noise (500Hz or less) with tonal components. Due to these factors, the environmental assessment of BESS would be more reflective of real-world conditions when undertaken using 1/3 octave band analysis.
The landscape of automotive testing is evolving, driven by the need for more accurate, efficient, and comprehensive evaluation methods. HBK (Hottinger Brüel & Kjær) have been leaders in this field for decades, offering integrated solutions that bridge the gap between virtual simulations and real-world testing.
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, precise motion sensing is crucial for various applications, from industrial machinery and consumer electronics, to drones, aerospace, and defence . The concept of Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) sensors is a cornerstone in this field, providing comprehensive motion tracking by measuring translational and rotational movements across three perpendicular axes.
NVMS’s highly-regarded Noise Assessor Course is coming to Brisbane next week, and with a couple of places still available it’s not too late to register. We’re also seeking expressions of interest to bring the course to Melbourne in 2025.
Over the last 25 years, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) has become more powerful, accessible, and affordable. But the need for physical vibration testing has remained, for correlation, verification, package testing or final acceptance.
Fundamentally, any rotating shaft has the function of transferring power, i.e. the product of the rotational speed by the transferred torque.
As decarbonisation of society slowly takes place, so does electrification of various equipment. On fixed plants for example, small steam turbines driving pumps or fans are regularly replaced by motors. In the automotive industry, the transition is faster with the number of hybrid and electric vehicles now rapidly increasing.
In a market with a lot of options, HBK (formerly Bruel and Kjaer) acoustic cameras are a beacon of precision and efficiency.
NVMS and HBK will showcase advanced test and measurement, data acquisition, real-time simulation, and asset health monitoring technologies at Land Forces 2026. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with specialists from NVMS, HBK and Concurrent Real-Time, exploring solutions that support defence testing, system validation, structural monitoring, condition monitoring, and critical asset management, backed by local expertise and support from NVMS.
NVMS has expanded its offering with the addition of Druck pressure measurement solutions. The range includes sensors, calibrators, controllers, gauges, hand pumps, ADTS systems and calibration software, supporting customers across industrial, laboratory, aerospace, defence and field service applications with globally recognised technology backed by NVMS’s local technical expertise and support.
NVMS has enhanced its sound level meter calibration capability with the introduction of the HBK Type 3630-A. This advanced, automated system improves accuracy, repeatability, and turnaround times while ensuring strict standards compliance. The result is greater measurement confidence, robust traceable documentation, and stronger support for regulatory, workplace, and environmental compliance requirements.
