Microstrain’s Wireless DAQ Systems eliminate the constraints and costs associated with traditional wired monitoring systems, providing "Wireless Simplicity with Hardwired Reliability." This ensures flexibility in sensor deployment while maintaining critical data integrity and optimal performance for your applications.

Built on our proprietary LXRS* protocol, Microstrain Wireless DAQ Systems deliver lossless data throughput and extended range capabilities. The enhanced LXRS+ protocol further advances performance, offering sampling rates up to 16,000 samples per second, faster data downloads, and reduced power consumption. From structural health monitoring to industrial process control, our Wireless DAQ Systems integrate seamlessly into diverse applications, supported by advanced software platforms such as SensorConnect and SensorCloud, providing comprehensive control and analytics capabilities.

* LXRS in MicroStrain’s wireless systems stands for Lossless eXtended Range Synchronised.

  • Lossless: The protocol ensures 100% reliable data throughput, even in harsh RF environments, using buffering, acknowledgements, and retransmissions
  • eXtended Range: Operates on the 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 standard, offering transmission ranges up to 2 kilometers with strong signal strength
  • Synchronised: Uses microsecond-precise time synchronization (± 32 µs) across all nodes via beacon signals from the gateway, enabling coordinated sampling

Wireless Nodes - Wireless Nodes are compact, battery-powered devices that perform precise sensor measurements and transmit this data wirelessly. Featuring exceptional power efficiency, these nodes significantly extend deployment duration while delivering highly accurate and dependable data in real-time.

OEM & Embedded Solutions -MicroStrain by HBK also offers extensive OEM solutions,allowing partners to embed our cutting-edge wireless sensing technologydirectly into their own products. These include compact analogue input modulesfor measuring parameters such as strain, load, and pressure; wirelessaccelerometer modules for capturing low-noise vibration and tilt data; andtemperature sensing modules compatible with thermocouples, RTDs, andthermistors. Designed for seamless integration, these embeddable solutionsprovide high-resolution data, onboard signal processing, and robust wirelesscommunication, making them ideal for OEMs developing smart, connected products.
